This arboretum trail has 45 marked trees organized by plant communities found in alluvial bottomlands.

  • 5 ft wide packed gravel path with 3 decked bridges

  • Smooth with a few gentle inclines

  • Benches every ⅛ mile

  • Does not loop 

  • Intersects and merges with the Old Farm Road multiple times


OLD FARM ROAD / Yellow

Length: .75 miles

Rating: Easy / Multi-Use

Best Uses: maintenance, quick return to parking areas

This trail is a historic road used throughout the 20th century in service to an active cotton farm, pig farm, black community, Spring Lake Club, logging access and city public works area. 

  • 6 ft wide dirt road

  • Merges with or crosses Bottomland Trail multiple times

  • Invasive plant species issues 

RULES

  • Foot traffic only / wheelchair accessible

  • NO motorized vehicles or bicycles

  • Dogs must be on leash / clean up expected

NOT ALLOWED: foraging, collecting, removing anything from the wild including: feathers, bones, mushrooms, seeds, plants, animals, insects
